Flatlist Eyewear seamlessly integrates sophisticated designs with environmentally conscious materials, embodying a steadfast commitment to fashion with a conscience. Renowned for its eco-friendly eyewear, the brand has recently inaugurated a brand new multifunctional space serving as a shop, office, and recording studio located at Kronprinsensgade in the heart of Copenhagen. This expansion reflects not only their dedication to the fashion industry but also to the realm of music.
Akuart was enlisted in the design process by the design studio Krøyer-Sætter-Lassen to ensure a well-balanced acoustic environment in the recording studio designated for podcast and music recordings. This innovative space enables eyewear shoppers to witness the sound recording process involving music and fashion personalities within the Flatlist community while engaging in their shopping experience. However, the introduction of glass walls in the recording studio posed a challenge to sound quality, a critical element for effective sound recordings.
“Akuart is a trusted friend and sparring partner in projects where acoustics play a significant role in the intended experience and usage of a particular space. They possess a unique ability to comprehend the intricate interplay between aesthetics and functional demands.”
– Emil Krøyer, Partner at Krøyer-Sætter-Lassen
Flatlist and Krøyer-Sætter-Lassen chose SS50 Wall Panels in custom sizes, providing the flexibility to cover a substantial amount of wall surface on the two adjacent walls. “In recording studios, it is crucial to diminish hard surfaces to minimise standing sound waves, flutter echoes, and the reverberation time, to create optimal conditions for recording sound”, explains Steffen Spangmose, Acoustical Engineer and Head of Design and Innovations at Akuart.
The SS50 Wall Panels were delivered in a custom raw aluminium finish, specifically chosen to seamlessly blend into the overall crisp and industrial atmosphere. A distinctive touch was added by incorporating the Flatlist logo into the canvas.
